A world-renowned poker player came home to Madison Saturday night to celebrate a cause close to his heart.
Madison native Phil Hellmuth, known in the poker world as the "Poker Brat," was a welcome host at the "Hold 'Em with Agrace HospiceCare" event.
The money raised on Saturday will go to Agrace HospiceCare, an organization that cares for more than 600 patients every day throughout southern Wisconsin.
Hellmuth said that turnout for the event was great.
"We had too many people signed up," joked Hellmuth. "It's great when you can have a charity tournament like this. We think we're going to raise between a quarter million and $400,000 in one night. I've got Jerry Kelly, came out, he's got chips. We have Matt Kenseth, we've got Barry Alvarez."
Raffle prizes were distributed, including a $10,000 seat to play at the 2011 World Series of Poker.
