Since Agrace HospiceCare. was founded in 1978, women have played a prominent role in the agency. Today, out of the organization’s 552 employees working to provide patients and families the best in end-of-life care, 483 are women. Approximately 80 percent of Agrace HospiceCare’s more than 150 Rock County volunteers are also women. “One factor in awarding Agrace HospiceCare the Corporate Award of Merit was the programs Agrace HospiceCare has initiated to improve women’s lives both in and outside of the workplace,” said Allison Hokinson, executive director, YWCA Rock County. ”Agrace HospiceCare also demonstrates a commitment to the equality and advancement of women, which is a cornerstone of the YWCA.” Agrace HospiceCare values its employees through a variety of programs and services that promote workplace well-being. The organization offers extensive health and wellness programs on site and off; supports ongoing personal and professional development and educational opportunities; encourages staff participation in local community events and more. Agrace HospiceCare’s long-standing role as a local leader in hospice services has been instrumental in improving the lives of thousands of local patients and families. A United Way Program Partner, Agrace HospiceCare also advocates for legislation supporting exceptional end-of-life care in all communities, helping to ensure hospice services are accepted, expected and available to all people.
